Claudio Albertani is a historian and professor at the Autonomous University of Mexico. He is the author of Rebelión y anarquía: El joven Victor Serge (1890–1919). Together with Claude Rioux, he prepared Victor Serge’s Carnets (1936–1947).

Victor Serge’s legacy is not that of a man who abandoned socialism for anti-communism. It is that of a socialist thinker who refused every capitulation — to Stalinism, to liberalism, to despair — and who paid the full price of that refusal.
