Howard A. Rodman is a former president of the Writers Guild of America West, a professor of screenwriting at University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts, a member of the National Film Preservation Board, and an artistic director of the Sundance Screenwriting Labs. In 2021, he was elected a governor of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and in 2023, an Academy vice president.
