The Student Worker Movement Is Growing
Faced with a hostile NLRB, repressive university policies and a lack of institutional support, student workers across the country are pushing ahead in their campaign to unionize.
Mitchell Manning is a graduate student in the Labor Center at UMass Amherst. He was previously co-chair of the Resident Assistant and Peer Mentor Union (RAPMU-UAW 2322), and is currently the Grievance Coordinator for the Graduate Employee Organization (GEO-UAW 2322) and Financial Secretary of UAW Local 2322.
