We may not be very good, but we’re better than Vox.


Donald Trump’s election was a tragedy, but at least it was good for magazine subscriptions.

Seriously, though. Jacobin went from a precarious project with just 15,000 subscribers to something almost double that size by the end of 2016. But since then things have slowed to a crawl.

We’re still breaking web traffic records every month, but not many of those people are becoming print subscribers. I don’t know why — we’re annoying, but we’ve always been annoying. We’re dirty reds, but that’s been the case for a while now. We have a tenuous grasp on the English language, but yeah, nothing new.
